Ne-Yo Responds To ‘Atlanta Exes’ Backlash: ‘I’ve Made My Apologies’ .

Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 7.55.58 AM Monyetta Shaw and NeYo attend Ludaday Bowling event
For some women, reality TV can be a great platform to brand themselves outside of their famous boyfriends and husbands, but there’s always a price…and sometimes it’s their exes that has to pay.
Ne-Yo is learning this the hard way.
Last night, he was spotted at Ludacris’ Ludaday Celebrity Bowling event in Atlanta with his ex-fiancee Monyetta Shaw, who also stars on the new season of VH1′s Atlanta Exes.  Although the former couple looked very chummy, Ne-Yo has been catching a lot of heat from the show’s fans, particularly after the last episode aired.  During the show, it was revealed that Ne-Yo broke up with Monyetta by phone.  She also cried while revealing she wouldn’t be able to have kids if she met a new man because Ne-Yo had talked her into getting her tubes tied during their relationship.
The backlash has been so real that Ne-Yo took to his Instagram to repost this picture quote about nobody being perfect.
Nobody is perfect, and nobody deserves to be perfect. Nobody has it easy, everybody has issues. You never know what people are going through. So pause before you start judging, criticizing, or mocking others. Everybody is fighting their own unique war.
He also captioned the image with this cryptic plea about forgiveness and immaturity along with some shady hashtags.
I’ve made my apologies to the people I feel I wronged. I was forgiven by those people. Anybody else passing judgment on me for my past mistakes and immaturities is more than welcome to it. Your opinion is your own to do with as you please. The ONLY judgment I’m truly concerned with is the ONLY one that matters. Mistakes will be made, that’s human. So again to all the perfect beings out there who feel so worthy to judge my imperfection…..ENJOY THE SHOW. #NowTHATSNonfiction #AtlExes #Vh1 #WatchIt #IfCrucifyingMeMakesYouFeelBetterAboutYouHaveAtIt #ShoutOutToAllTheImperfectPeopleOutThereJustTryingToFigureThisThingCalledLifeOutJustLikeMe
It’s true, no relationship is perfect, but they are definitely making things even more complicated by still living together after the breakup.
Hopefully, some of this stuff is exaggerated for TV. It’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out.
In case you missed it, catch our interview with Monyetta Shaw here.

New Music: The Game f/ Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, & TGT – ‘Don’t Shoot’

Don't Shoot
The Game stands up to intolerance and racism on the Ferguson anthem “Don’t Shoot,” dedicated to the memory of Mike Brown. The Compton MC brings together the hip-hop community including Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Diddy, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh, and TGT.
The protest song includes powerful verses and a call to action: “Time to take a stand and save our future like we all got shot.”
Game explained how the collaboration came together. “I managed to get everyone on fairly easy, simply because we have hearts,” he said. “We care and are inclined to take a positive approach to resolving an issue that has existed since the beginning of mankind and that’s racism and hatred towards one another as human beings.”
The song is now available on iTunes, with all proceeds benefitting the Justice for Mike Brown charity.

Gabrielle Union Is Getting Married This Weekend…And Essence Atkins Will Be Officiating .

Gabrielle_Union_Essence_Atkins_by_JenniferGrayEssence Atkins
The big Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union wedding is going down this Saturday and while we don’t know much about the South Beach ceremony, we do know two things — they’ll be no bridal party and…Essence Atkins is officiating!
This weekend, HipHollywood caught up with the actress at an Emmy pre-party where she revealed her important duties. Apparently, it’ll be a couples thing because both Essence and her husband (whom she met on eharmony) are ordained wedding officiants and will be marrying Dwyane and Gabby. While her husband has officiated weddings before, (most notably Alfonso Ribero’s wedding,) Essence says that this will be her first time.
‘No pressure!!!!’
That droplet of tea is all the tea we’ll be getting, too. In an effort to plug leaks, guests will be ordered to sign confidentiality agreements before arriving at the wedding. Doesn’t matter who they are or their relation to the bride and groom, everyone must sign or be denied entry. Their phones and cameras will also be confiscated at the door.
And if someone does want to talk on what they saw or heard at the wedding, they should probably make sure their pockets are right because penalties are stiff!
In this day and age, we don’t really blame them though. If this policy wasn’t in place, their photos would be circulating the net before the officiators even had a chance to say, ‘You may kiss the bride.’  This puts Gabby and D Wade in control of their big day.
Watch Essence talk about her role in the wedding below:

Alfre Woodard, Laverne Cox, Nicole Beharie, & Danai Gurira Cover Essence Magazine .

Essence Magazine
People are always saying they would love to see some new faces on the cover of magazines, and Essence magazine has heard their cry loud and clear. For their 2014 October issue, Essence is giving nods to the shift going on in black Hollywood by featuring new rising stars including Laverne Cox (from Emmy-nominated series Orange is the New Black), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), and Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead).  They also round out the cover with veteran actress Alfre Woodard (State of Affairs), calling them “Channel Changers.”
Inside, the four ladies talk about television being more diverse and how women of color are storming networks because of talent and persistence.
Catch what they had to say below:
Danai: “It is a golden age. because we’re allowed to see that more people are given a voice, and that is a beautiful thing. We know when there’s been a dearth of this type of diversity. I remember watching Orange and feeling as if something new was happening.”
Laverne: “People are watching television in a different way. I’ve been acting for a very long time and not getting very far, and I would say we needed some sort of systemic revolutionary change for me to have an acting career.”
Alfre: “Is it the golden age, daughters? I want you all to believe: We’re not here because somebody suddenly said, ‘Let’s have some women of color [on TV].’ We’re here because we’re brilliant at what we do. We’re persistent. You could put us at the bottom of the ocean and we’d still come to the top.”
With shows like Scandal making history and pulling in millions of viewers every episode, and proving that America is ready to see more diversity on their favorite shows, it’s going to be amazing to sit back and see more black actresses snag leading roles on television.

Is Cliff Dixon Subliminally Claiming Rihanna?.

Kevin Durant’s friend Cliff Dixon may need to have a “are you, or are you not my baby?” conversation with Rihanna. He is head over heels for that woman and she doesn’t exactly seem to be paying him dust since she’s been snapped in photos with him.
A few months back, it was rumored that the two were dating after they were spotted at a 4th of July pool party followed by an appearance at a nightclub together.   Cliff also repeatedly posted photos of Rihanna with subliminal captions, but when blogs picked up the story that the two may be dating, he quickly shut the rumors down and said he was only a fan of the singer.
Well, he must be a super-duper fan, because this weekend, the former Western Kentucky basketball player flew to Detroit to watch Rihanna close out her last date on the Monster tour and kick it backstage.
He also posted a super cute picture of the two of them smiling and hugged up together with the caption:
Tryna steal my pose huh? You can have it boo you look better doing it anyway [kissing emoji and heart eyes emoji]
But when a commenter called him out on the caption and asked if they were together, he used his favorite line and wrote back, ‘No, I’m just a #fan.”
He did promise another fan that he would treat her right though.

New Music: Nicole Scherzinger – ‘On the Rocks’

On the Rocks
After igniting the dance floor with her first single “Your Love,” Nicole Scherzinger serves up the follow-up “On the Rocks.” On the powerhouse ballad, produced by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, the former Pussycat Doll laments about a failed relationship and the way to get over it—by pouring up a stiff drink.
“Let’s take a shot, since you’ve been taking shots / And allow me to serve you this drink up on the rocks,” she sings.
Nicole is working with executive producers Tricky Stewart and The-Dream on the follow-up to her 2011 debut Killer Love, which will be released in the U.S. on Epic Records.
“For the first time in my career I feel like this album is me, it’s real,” she said. “It’s a very personal album for me. It is a reflection of the woman I am, the woman I am not, and the woman I want to be.”
Take a shot of Nicole’s new single.

A Few Moments From The MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet.

Screen Shot 2014-08-25 at 3.26.06 PM Screen Shot 2014-08-25 at 3.28.12 PM
Skin was definitely in last night as celebs took the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards.  Some of our favs arrived showing legs, thighs, booty and boobs, while others went for understated looks.

Catch a few of our favorite moments below:
Amber Rose MTV Video Music Awards“Not one single f-ck was given” is what Amber Rose posted on a video of her walking the red carpet yesterday evening.  And that sounds about right!  She had heads turning as she arrived in a custom Laurel DeWitt chain dress while giving off Vegas showgirl realness.  Back in 2010, she wore a similar style dress while attending Paris Fashion Week with her ex.
Rita Ora MTV Video Music AwardsRita Ora ALWAYS looks amazing in red. Last night, she brought fire to the VMAs after arriving in a red Donna Karan Atelier dress which featured a side split that reached her navel.  Makeup, hair, legs…everything. Perfection.
beyonce red carpet 2Alright Beyoncé with the old school club pose! The Queen of the Beyhive shut the red carpet down as she arrived in a Nicolas Jebran Couture last night ahead of her huge performance and acceptance of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award. You can catch video of her fans screaming and crying as she arrived here.

Solange Ariana Grande and ChanelBlack was also the color of the night for Solange, who rocked an ill-fitted disco pantsuit, Ariana Grande who showed up in a Moschino dress and thigh-high boots and Chanel Iman who rocked Balmain.  The verdict on these fits: No, No… Yes.
Extreme sidebar: Did anyone else wonder where Solange was during BeyoncĂ©’s big performance??
j loIt’s hard not to mention that J. Lo is 45 YEARS OLD on any post where she’s shutting the red carpet down.  Last night, she was showing off major body as she arrived in a Charbel Zoe gown and Jimmy Choo pumps, and she looked GOOD!  (This is what a natural booty looks like ladies and gentlemen!)
Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams
Destiny’s Child in the house!  Kelly Rowland hugged her baby bump as she rocked a Kaufman Franco gown, while Michelle Williams opted for Roberto Cavalli.
Kylie Kim and Kendall

It was a family affair for the Kardashian/Jenner clan last night. Kylie Jenner was giving us 17 going on 25 as she rocked an Alexandre Vauthier dress with Gucci heels, while her sister Kim Kardashian looked very Latin in Balmain.  Kendall Jenner, meanwhile, showed off her supermodel figure in a Balmain pantsuit.  The girls are currently catching heat after they were spotted on camera texting and chatting during the Mike Brown/Ferguson memorial.Iggy and Nick Young MTV VMAsIggy Azalea looked like a coke bottle last night while showing off her hourglass figure in an Atelier Versace metallic gown.  She looked great!
nicki minaj and rocsi
Nicki Minaj and Rocsi were golden girls last night.  Nicki Minaj put on her best game face as she walked the carpet in a Saint Laurent animal-print dress with nude pumps, while Rocsi opted for a gold Haute Hippie dress.
Miley and Taylor
Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift made statements on the red carpet. Miley wore a two-piece, black leather, Alexandre Vauthier pantsuit while Taylor Swift showed off legs in a Mary Katrantzou bodysuit.
What were your favorite looks of the night?

Video: Usher f/ Nicki Minaj – ‘She Came to Give It to You’

Usher and Nicki Minaj
Fresh off his white-hot performance at the VMAs, Usher lights up the screen alongside Nicki Minaj in the dance-heavy video for “She Came to Give It to You.”
In the Philip Andelman-directed clip, the R&B superstar takes over an underground club in the back of an electronics store, working up a sweat as he busts some slick moves on the dance floor.
Nicki comes through the after-hours party, dressed to kill in all black, and spits her quirky verse in front of a wall of TV monitors. Plus, don’t miss a cameo from Pharrell, who lurks in the shadows.
The Pharrell-produced song will appear on Usher’s upcoming album UR, due this fall.
Later this year, he will embark on “The UR Experience” world tour, which includes L.A., Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans, and New York.
